The Seven Deadly Sins

I have started a new series of work which I am finding challenging…   The Seven Deadly Sins… I decided I would make boxes for each small sculpture to sit on which would relate to each other and tie them together. The sins are also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins…    its a classification of vices that has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct Christians concerning fallen humanity's tendency to sin.  The currently recognized version of sins are usually given as: wrath, greed, sloth, pride , lust, envy and gluttony.  I have also added the Latin words for the sins, and am trying to incorporate the color which each sin is associated with.

I am working on Pride right now, it is my fourth one.  Interestingly, Pride, or Hubris, is considered the original and most serious of  the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others..It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others and excessive admiration of the personal self.

I hope to finish soon, I am tiring of them, but I never let things go unfinished..
